It would seem the hypocrisy of our government knows no bounds! Now they have gone to great lengths to exempt themselves from this wonderful government-run healthcare system they are trying to foist upon the unsuspecting American people.
This socialized medicine, apparently, is not good enough for them but it is damn sure all you and I rate. While we wait in lines and for weeks and months to see a doctor or have a medical procedure of some kind performed they will be enjoying first class, number one, healthcare with the doctor of their choice, where, and when they choose.

Rep. John Fleming (R-La.) has introduced a bill that urges members of Congress who vote to create a government-run health insurance agency to give up their own comprehensive health insurance plans and join the new the public option they advocate for all the rest of us. It is House Resolution 615. Here’s the text of the bill:
“That it is the sense of the House of Representatives that Members who vote in favor of the establishment of a public, federal government run health insurance option are urged to forgo their right to participate in the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program (FEHBP) and agree to enroll under that public option,”
On his Website Congressman Fleming states the following: “Over the past few weeks, members of Congress and the American people have come to know the details of the Administration’s proposed health care plan. Call it whatever you like, I believe this proposal is nothing more than government-run health care. As a physician, I am amazed at the number of bureaucrats in this House who are quick to claim a government-run health care plan is the reform this country needs. In response to this, I have offered a resolution that will offer members of Congress an opportunity to put their money where their mouth is, and urge their colleagues who vote for legislation creating a government-run health care plan to lead by example and enroll themselves in the same public plan.
Under the current draft of the Democrat healthcare legislation, members of Congress are curiously exempt from the government-run health care option, keeping their existing health plans and services on Capitol Hill. If Members of Congress believe so strongly that government-run health care is the best solution for hard working American families, I think it only fitting that Americans see them lead the way. Public servants should always be accountable and responsible for what they are advocating, and I challenge the American people to demand this from their representatives.” You may read the Congressman’s entire statement HERE.
Wake up, America, they’re about to do it to you again!
If this seems the least bit familiar to those of you around before the old Soviet Union went belly-up, you may recall this is exactly the kind of behavior the communist politburo was famous, or infamous, for. They had the best while the average soviet citizen had to make-do standing in long lines – not only for health care but just to buy a roll of toilet tissue. Now, America is headed in the same direction deeper and deeper into socialism. This government-run healthcare Obama and the democrat/socialists are peddling is pure socialism.
If this ObamaCare passes the Congress and is signed into law by the President the government will be even more intrusive in our everyday affairs, and our business, and deeper into what, up to now at least, have been our personal and private health matters. Is this what you want? Are you sure… because, if we don’t stop them, this bill is going to pass.

Seems to me it is time to contact our Congresspersons and senators and ask them why they are not the first to sign up to ObamaCare if this government-run healthcare program is so good, and is, in fact, the answer to America’s healthcare problems. But, then, you already know the answer. It is not about your health, or your healthcare. It is ALL about POWER. It always has been. This government-run healthcare will give the politicians power and, eventually, control over everything you do, your entire life, from the time you arise in the mornings until you retire at night.
ObamaCare, a national government-run healthcare system, is NOT the AMERICAN WAY! It is the SOCIALIST WAY! Washington is going to tell you that I am WRONG and they will try to sell you the idea that a government run healthcare system is not socialism. If you take a few minutes, and do a tiny bit of research on the Internet, you will quickly learn who is telling you the truth.

What you are seeing in this display of elitist behavior is one of the best examples of what living in a socialist state is like. One system for the elite and another for everybody else. And you thought you were going to be equal, right? Equal to WHAT, pray tell?
The product of health insurance is to provide you with medical coverage when you need it.
Unlike other businesses that need to provide you with their product in order to make any money, health insurance companies actually make more money for themselves when they restrict and do not pay claims.
In other words, they make more money when they do NOT provide the product that you have paid them for.
Read the 50 to 70 pages of your health insurance contract.
Pay particular attention to the section entitled “limitations and exclusions”.
People’s health is not a product that needs to be left to the whims of money motivated CEO’s and stockholders.
If that is your thinking, you might as well have your police and fire department protection based on insurance premiums you pay.
Then you can go to the police and fire protection insurance page for ‘limitations and exclusions’ on whether or not the police or fire department would come out to your house in the event of an emergency.
The point is, you would never think of discriminating against another citizen if he was the victim of a fire or crime.
So why would you be ok with health insurance companies discriminating against fellow citizens who have pre-existing medical conditions?
THIS IS IT!
The healthcare reform bill released by the House Of Representatives is an excellent bill as I understand it. It’s a bill with a strong, robust, government-run public option, and an intelligent, reasonable initial funding plan to cover almost all of the American people. It is carefully written, and thoughtfully constructed, informed, prudent and wise. This bill will save trillions of dollars, and millions of your lives.
This is the type of bill that all Americans can feel good about. And this is the type of bill that has the potential to dramatically improve the quality of healthcare for all Americans. Rich, middle class and poor a like. Democrats, Republicans, Independents, and all other party affiliations. This bill has the potential to dramatically improve the quality of life of every American.
The house healthcare bill should be viewed as the minimum GOLD STANDARD by which all other proposed healthcare legislation should be judged. All supporters of true high quality healthcare reform should now place all your support behind this healthcare reform bill released by the United States House Of Representatives, as the minimum Gold standard for healthcare reform in America.
You should all now support this bill with all your might, and all of your unrelenting tenacity. This healthcare bill is a VERY, VERY GOOD! bill for all of the American people. Fight tooth, and nail for every bit of this bill if you have too. Be aggressive, creative, and relentless for this bill.
From this time forward, go BIGGER and DEEPER with the American people every day until passage of healthcare reform with a robust, government-run public option.

CSPAN last night — I watched the elite democrats vote against the govt plan for themselves, but each of them seems to think it’s ok to force it upon the American taxpayers. Those elite democrats need to be voted out of office in the next election. We need a news station to run that segment of the Congressional vote showing their reponses, so we replace these individuals in Congress. It’s obvious they have forgotten they work for the taxpayers…I think Obama has forgotten this also. As a registered democrat, I plan to change my votes in 2010 and 2012. I want to remind the Congress, you work for the taxpayers!
If the government can do this, your have to wonder what’s next? The things the government can do is way beyond a tax on tea. All of our state legislatures must stop the feds.
jacksmith, how in the hell do you know whether the health care bill is good or not. Have you seen it? Have you read it? No and neither has congress. This is another Obama-Pelosi bulldozing. I for one sure as hell do not want to pay the bills for illegals and people that will not work and that is what we all will be doing. The government is broke. They can’t pay for it. How many people make over a million a year- not enough taxing them to pay for it. The working people will pay for it. And they are going to take money from Medicare which is already broke. The only reason that so many people are on Medicare is because companies will not continue coverage for retired employees because there is Medicare. What do you think will happen with ObamaCare? The same damned thing. What are you going to do if you need heart surgery and you are told that it is too expensive or you are put on a one year waiting list? Or like Obama wants it, if you are old you don’t need medical care- just die and get out of the way. Obama is an idiot and his ideas are worse and congressional Democrats have blinders on and dine on his fodder. Thank God some of them have gotten some backbone and are finally bucking the chosen one.

Have most of my fellow Americans Been brain washed but those right wing republican zombies on FOX(totally Biased)News. Universal health care is not a ploy by the devil or the Antichrist to take over the world nor is it the dreaded “C” word. Universal health care is a basic human right that most citizens of the top 50 countries in the world enjoys.
I have lived in the UK for the past 12 years but still consider America my one and only home and hope to return someday but the only thing that stops me is that fact that I wont get good health care in the states because I’m neither poor or wealthy just a hard working Joe who pays his taxes.
Let my dispel some myths about universal health care.
1.) You have to wait months or years to get treated
Not true very rarely it can take months but non urgent ops are normally dealt with in weeks and if you don’t want to wait you can always go private which is still cheaper that any health care in the states.
2.) The government chooses your doctor
Not true I drive 5 miles(in the UK 5miles is a long way away) to see my Doc because I chose him and he is very good even though I have a Doctors surgery round the corner from my house.
3.) Health care is rationed: Not true it is against the law in the UK for the health care system to discriminant against anyone and refuse them care. Many of my family members have received health care while visiting me from the states and were not charged a penny(oh sorry they had to pay a £10 subscription fee for their medication which you don’t pay if you are over 60.
4.) The government will gain more control over its citizen it it will be Gorge Orwell’s 1984 come to life.
Not True: The French who have one of the best health care systems in the world are definitely not controlled by their government hell they strike at the drop of a hat and generally get what they want and one of the things they fought hardest for was better health care.
And just one last thought one of my friends in the states had to make a horrific choice sell their house or let their son die from leukaemia. That’s a choice that unfortunately many Americans have to make where as my Mother in law is getting excellent treatment for her cancer in the UK and she dose not have the extra worry of cost.
Stop falling for all the crap about Communism and Socialism its not true its just a smoke screen so that insurance company can continue to profit from the misery of the American people.
And if congress refuses to have the same health care as the people they represent then vote their fat asses out that is why its called democracy.

How in the world can the “powers that be” in our great land ofAmerica take this approach to medical care? Why won’t they answer the questions about going over to this plan, if they pass it? Because they are taken care of in all matters of health care and as some of the other coments are made, we are paying for it. I do not want to be on a socialized medicine plan. I will write my senators and reps of that feeling., I wish they would all taking a flying leap. The best thing they could pass is eliminate the electorial college and let our votes cound as we intended them to.
