As unemployment numbers continue to climb closer to 10 percent nationwide in spite of the nearly $800 billion of taxpayer money the administration has already blown through under the guise of “stimulus”, some senior administration officials suggest that more taxpayer money may be required to “fix” the economy.
But this battle does not need to be fought, they said, until later this year.
Democratic Governor Ed Rendell from Pennsylvania wants the House to consider another stimulus package as well, this time tailored specifically towards infrastructure projects, arguing that infrastructure is what “produces jobs, and produces orders for American factories.” The Governor has not said how big he would like it to be.
Obama’s original economic stimulus plan promised to get people working again and prevent unemployment numbers from surpassing 8 percent, a mark that has already come and gone. In fact, more than two million jobs have been lost since the signing of the stimulus package.
USA Today reports that billions of dollars that were devoted towards stimulating the economy have gone directly to counties that heavily supported Barack Obama’s presidency in 2008. “That aid — about $17 billion — is the first piece of the administration’s massive stimulus package that can be tracked locally,” the paper said.
“Counties that supported Obama last year have reaped twice as much money per person from the administration’s $787 billion economic stimulus package as those that voted for his Republican rival, Sen. John McCain.”

We need another stimulas package, We still have millions out of work due
to lack of jobs available. Many of the unemployed will be running out of
their benefits this September and what will happen to those families???
No more talking about it, get it done asap. People need help until we can
fix this job market..The most important question is why aren’t the business
hiring? When we can find that out and fix it, everything else will fall into place.
Maybe the rich business owners want to make money at the cost of
the middle class again. The president raises taxes on the rich and they make up for it by not hiring. We are running in circles!!!! The greed of the bottomfeeders must STOP!!!!
