SOUTHERN ARIZONA – In continued evidence of the significant divisions that exist in Congress over the health care reform initiative, Senator Russ Feingold told a small group of citizens that the passage of any health care package by Christmas is unlikely.
The admission prompted a round of applause by the audience.
“Nobody is going to bring a bill before Christmas, and maybe not even then, if this ever happens,” Feingold said. “The divisions are so deep; I never seen anything like that.”
Feingold described the group of citizens as “spirited, but civil”, talking mostly about the health care initiative making its way through Congress and the deepening deficits that face America.
Although a proponent health care reform in principle, Feingold seems to favor a more relaxed approach of trial and error, where various health care proposals are implemented at the local levels first before enacting a one-size-fits-all package nationwide that will affect all Americans.

But, Russ, that’s such a sensible position. What’s gotten into you?
