SOUTHERN ARIZONA – As promised earlier in the month, Rand Paul’s money bomb brought the campaign much-needed resources for the small government Republican in his bid to defeat rival Trey Grayson in race for a Senate spot in 2010.
As of this writing, the campaign has raised nearly $650,000, well over half today alone. The campaign’s web site said contributor’s donated $100,000 by 8 a.m. this morning.
Rand Paul used a much-publicized tactic that his father, Ron Paul, used during his bid for the presidency, focusing fund-raising efforts on a single day – commonly called a “money bomb”.
The effort for both campaigns was organized by promoter Trevor Lyman.
