Rand Paul, Kentucky senatorial candidate and son of Texas Representative Ron Paul, signed a pledge that promises taxpayers support of any legislation that fights back against the recent government health care take over in Washington D.C.
From the “Club for Growth” press release:
It is well known that socialism leads to long lines, rationing, and a lack of choice. But more importantly, socialized medicine stifles innovation.
– Rand Paul
“Marco Rubio, Rand Paul, Mike Lee, and Pat Hughes have made a pact today with the people of their states to fight for health care and economic freedom, even if Congress passes ObamaCare this year,” Club President Chris Chocola said today. “These candidates are running as champions of economic liberty, limited government, and real reform. Their pledges today give voters in their states reason to believe them.”
The three pledges read:
CITIZENS: “I hereby pledge that if any federal health care takeover is passed in 2010, I will support – with my time, money, and vote – only candidates who pledge to support its repeal and replacement with real reforms that lower health care costs without growing government.”
LAWMAKERS: “I hereby pledge to the people of my state/district to sponsor and support legislation to repeal any federal health care takeover passed in 2010, and replace it with real reforms that lower health care costs without growing government.”
CANDIDATES: “I hereby pledge to the people of my state/district, upon my election to the House/Senate, to sponsor and support legislation to repeal any federal health care takeover passed in 2010, and replace it with real reforms that lower health care costs without growing government.”
