While election considerations may have played a significant role in Congressman Murtha's statements, sincere feelings about the war were likely also a part of this. This member of Congress, along with principled U.S. Representatives such as Walter Jones (R-NC), John Duncan, Jr. (R-TN), and others, should be commended for speaking out against the statist and liberal internationalist policies of the Bush administration, with respect to foreign and domestic affairs.
