Insightful article. Too bad poster #1 slept through history class.

Had he stayed awake, he might actually have acquired some knowledge about the causes of the war and learned that "slavery" was not an issue for its first 2-3 years, that the Emancipation Proclamation was rendered well after the war began, and that it freed slaves only in the South. Moreover, if he ever visits the South, he will find that his predetermined prejudice is unfounded, as well.

Finally, Lincoln knew the war had nothing to do with slavery and everything to do with coercing the agricultural South to remain in the Union. For example, Lincoln could have purchased the freedon of every single slave on the continent for about $500,000. Instead, he spent over a billion bucks and caused the deaths of over 600,000 people.

Not that we can expect the facts to get in the way of poster #1's story!

This article is disturbing on so many levels that I only have time to comment on a few. First, it never ceases to amaze me how the perpetrators and purveyors of ‘racism’ conveniently attempt to cover their racist attitudes and history as just a passing ‘non-fancy’. My friend, you and I both know that the ‘southern history’ and the confederate flag always has, and continues to be, one of the worst bastions of racism ever symbolized in this country. Any attempt to depict it for any thing other than what it is would be another attempt to ‘white wash’ history, as is so often done by ‘non-racist’ individuals such as yourself. Please don’t insult my or any ‘thinking’ person’s intelligence with the non-sense you are espousing in this article. These boycotts do not help reduce black on black crime, but hopefully it will bring attention to the fact that afro-descendants have been under terrorist attacks ever since we have been in this racist society, and it continues unto this very day, with the help of people or your ilk pretending to be ‘sensitive’ to our needs. Don’t kid yourself of your true intentions my friend, and surely don’t try to kid us with articles of this nature. We know what’s up. Thanks.
