Hussein snatches liberal playbook

When Ramsey Clark joined the Saddam Hussein defense team I knew things would start to get interesting. Clark is just one more example as to why liberals should never be allowed to run the country. After a stint as the United States Attorney General under Lyndon B. Johnson, Clark would take up a new hobby as a defender of the peace and virtue of terrorists and dictators across the globe.

Even before declaring Hussein?s innocence, Clark had more than enough on his resume to at least compete with Howard Dean for the chairmanship of the Democratic National Committee. Among his other notable accomplishments, Clark had defended a leader of Rwandan genocide, the head of a Nazi concentration camp, Palestinian terrorists, two Yugoslavian war criminals including Slobodan Milosevic, and a man who murdered, execution-style, two FBI Agents. Adding to his credentials, Clark helped to draft articles of impeachment against George W. Bush.

Not only has Clark now joined the defense team of Saddam Hussein, but also it would appear that he brought along every plan in the democrats? playbook. It does not bode well for the anti-American left when their actions begin to intertwine this often with a murderous dictator?s.

First democrat stratagem: claim torture! Hussein?s claims of torture are nothing short of ironic given his long-time standing as the ?Father of Modern Torture.? Even if he were being tortured he at least still has his legs, fingers, ears and tongue. As a young lad?long before his dreams of becoming a genocidal lunatic dictator were realized?Hussein specialized in developing various techniques of torture. Among his more flavorful forms of torture Hussein would lower victims into pools of acid, rape women with broken glass bottles, impart in the removal of eye from socket, rip our fingernails and toenails, and send electric shocks to various body parts. And I guarantee you, they are parts one would not want shocked.

Second democrat stratagem: Bush lied about WMD?s! Following in the footsteps of Howard Dean, Nancy Pelosi, and John Kerry, Hussein declared that Bush is ?the number one liar in the world.? Adding that ?they said in Iraq, there is chemicals, and there is a relation to terrorism, and they announced later we couldn't find any of that in Iraq.? Is he on trial for being a mass-murdering dictator or running for a job as Senate Minority Leader? It?s hard to tell.

Third democrat stratagem: divert, divert, divert! As the White House has pointed out, Hussein is trying to divert the attention of the trial away from his victims and onto claims of torture and assertions that Bush lied. In addition, members of Hussein?s defense team have requested that the testimonies of the witnesses be kept confidential until after the trial. There hasn?t been a world leader this intrepid since Bill Clinton bombed an aspirin factory to divert attention from Monica Lewinsky?s grand jury testimony.

Fourth democrat stratagem: claim election fraud! Technically, this has to deal with the Sunni voting-bloc in Iraq and not Saddam Hussein. However, given that the Sunni voting-bloc was the favorable minority under Hussein?s dictatorship, we can only assume that these protestors gained some inspiration from the ?Fearless One.?

Apparently shocked that a minority of people would not win a majority in the Iraqi elections, various protestors took to the streets claiming ?No democracy without real elections?, ?Down with the electoral commission?, and ?Rigged polls.? First Florida in 2000, then Ohio in 2004, and now Iraq in 2005. Karl Rove is one busy man.

Upset that the once-dominant minority in Iraq can no longer usurp the will of the long-suppressed majority, the Sunnis have turned to claiming fraud as their final defense apart from supporting terrorism. Hussein?s legal team has done everything in its power to turn their client into a sympathetic figure, using absurd claims of torture and ?Bush Lied? to attempt to swing public opinion in their favor. Worse yet, all of these tactics have been used by liberals in hopes of doing the same for them here in America.
