SmallGovTimes.comCorruption scandal now expanding to the CIA By: Matthew Dailey | Published on 05/11/06 The corruption scandal involving disgraced Congressman Randy "Duke" Cunningham is spreading to the CIA. ABC News reported that the CIA inspector general has opened an investigation into the intelligence agency's executive director, Kyle "Dusty" Foggo, and his connections to two defense contractors accused of bribing a member of Congress and Pentagon officials. Foggo was appointed to the executive director post by former CIA Director Porter Goss who resigned expectedly this past Friday. Brent Wilkes, a defense contractor, is under investigation for his involvement in the Cunningham bribery scandal. Wilkes allegedly provided poker parties, limousines, and prostitutes for Rep. Cunningham at the Watergate and Westin Grand hotels. Foggo has admitted that he attended the poker parties over the years. Foggo stating through a CIA spokesman on Saturday that he did not violate agency rules in the awarding of contracts and that the poker games were nothing more than a gathering of friends. Foggo claims that no prostitutes were present at the poker parties which he attended. Foggo, a childhood friend of Wilkes, is currently under investigation by the FBI for allegedly awarding one of Wilkes's companies, Archer Logistics, a $3 million contract to supply bottled water and other goods to CIA operatives in Iraq and Afghanistan. According to the San Diego Tribune, the company had no previous experience with such work, as it was founded shortly before the contract was awarded. Wilkes is also accused of arranging to have the Shirlington Limousine and Transportation Service bring prostitutes to suites in the Watergate and Westin Grand hotels. The president of the company, Christopher Baker has a long history of criminal convictions and financial troubles. Two of Wilkes' former business associates claim that they were present on several occasions when the Shirlington limousine company brought prostitutes to the hotel suites. They said they did not see lawmakers in the suites on those particular instances, although both claim they heard rumors of congressmen bringing women to the rooms.
