SmallGovTimes.comRosie’s fatwa against Christianity By: Ken Marotte | Published on 03/26/07 In September 2006, Rosie O’Donnell was at it again, spewing her left-wing venom and exhibiting her universal ignorance. Debating the legitimacy of the Iraq War on ABC’s “The View”, co-hosts Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Rosie O’Donnell exchanged harsh words. Essentially, Rosie badmouthed the president and his campaign in Iraq, while Hasselbeck struggled earnestly to convince her co-host of the threat imposed by Islamofascists. Rosie responded: “Just a minute. Radical Christianity is just as threatening as radical Islam in a country like America where we have separation of church and state.” The audience, obviously not immune to Rosie’s web of lies, wildly applauded the ridiculous comment. Let’s examine her remark in light of recent news. Last weekend, U.S. soldiers patrolling a Baghdad checkpoint allowed in a car carrying two adults and two children. “Children in the back seat lowered suspicion. We let it move through,” said Major General Michael Barbero. After passing the checkpoint, the adults parked the car next to a market and bolted. The car subsequently detonated, the children still inside. These were Muslims, not Christians. On the Shabakat Falastin Lilhiwar, an online forum associated with the Palestinian terror group Hamas, there appeared a picture of a little girl, no older than five, in a combat vest. This girl, read the forum entry, “is part of the Muslim generation which will go down in history [as a generation]…that refused to [accept] humiliation and defeat.” This comes no surprise, as Hamas is known for using cartoons and comic strips to glorify jihad among Islam’s youngest subscribers. These were Muslims, not Christians. This from a blog: “In the West, back in the 60s and 70s, feminist-leaning women used to burn their bras as a sign of their liberation from centuries of patriarchal oppression … In Afghanistan, conversely, as a sign of their continued oppression, many women are burning themselves – and to death.” Why? As stated in a news report, “One woman committed suicide after her father-in-law tried to rape her. Another set herself on fire because her brothers wouldn't let her get married, preferring to keep her as a servant. One woman told her mother before she died that her husband was beating her every day.” The common denominator? Islam. The Quran, the book of faith upon which Islam is based, says in Sura 4: “The men are made responsible for the women, and God has endowed them with certain qualities… If you experience rebellion from the women, you shall first talk to them, then (you may use negative incentives like) deserting them in bed, then you may (as a last alternative) beat them.” And lest we forget: “I (God) will instill terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers; smite ye above their necks and smite all their fingertips off them – this because they contended against God and His Apostle. If any contend against God and His Apostle, God is strict in punishment. ... It is not ye who slew them; it was God.” In terms of severity, this material far surpasses anything in the Bible, even before Christ’s atonement. Worst, many Muslims still interpret such verses literally, whereas most Christians view Old Testament prescription with a consciousness of perspective and history. If Rosie would like for her children to be taught to maim those who disagree with them, let her relocate to the Middle East. If she would like to endure beatings from her wife (oh, how it pains me to type that), let her join bin Laden, al-Sadr, and their ilk. Rosie once noted, “When you’re silent, it’s as good as lying.” But as Ms. O’Donnell has shown, vociferous rants and raucous tirades can also be “as good as lying.” “You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time,” said Abraham Lincoln, “but you cannot fool all of the people all of the time.” Let us sincerely hope that Rosie’s fabrications and deceit never leave the doors of the ABC studio. For if mainstream America ever believes such ridiculous notions – that the so-called religion of peace trumps the Prince of Peace – then America, and Christianity along with her, will sink tragically, completely, and irreparably.
