SmallGovTimes.comRon Paul raises millions in one day By: SGT News | Published on 11/05/07 Small government candidate Ron Paul managed to rake in more than $3.5 million in campaign donations in less than 24 hours, moving the Texas Republican closer to meeting his goal of $12 million by the end of the quarter. Paul's accomplishment set a record among GOP candidates in the amount of money raised in one day and now only trails Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton, who's record is over $6 million, along with Barack Obama. A total of a little more than $6 million has been raised this quarter for the Texas Representative. Some of that money has already been devoted to television advertisements in key states across the nation. Paul is best known for his anti-interventionist foreign policy and his willingness to eliminate many of the government's unconstitutional programs and agencies. Paul favors a significant change in government and military operations, including the abolishment of the Internal Revenue Service.
