SmallGovTimes.comPaul wins Conservative Leadership Conference straw poll By: SGT News | Published on 10/15/07 Ron Paul can add yet another straw poll victory to his tally as he takes first place in a Conservative Leadership Conference poll held in Nevada. Paul, who did not attend the event, won 33% of the vote, followed by Mitt Romney at 16%. Paul's success in straw polls stands in stark contrast with historically unreliable national polls, which put the Texas Representative at only 1% to 3%. An estimated 430 votes were cast, where Libertarian philosophy dominated the gathering. The Nevada poll came just days after the CNBC-organized national GOP debate, where Ron Paul was provided the least amount of time to respond to questions than any other candidate on stage.
