SmallGovTimes.comFCC chief: "No new authority needed" By: SGT News | Published on 04/22/08 Chairman of the Federal Communications Commission Kevin Martin said today that no new regulations of the Internet are needed, instead arguing that the FCC has all the authority it needs “at this time.” Martin spoke during a hearing in front of the Senate Commerce Committee and noted several previous actions that provide the necessary evidence that the FCC already possesses enough authority to prevent discrimination by ISP, or Internet Service Providers. The debate over “network neutrality” provided the impetuous for today's hearing.
