John Kerry and the not ready for prime time campaigners

By: Justin Darr | Submitted on: 09/14/04

EDITORIAL - For all the money and power associated with the office of President of the United States, you would assume John Kerry would be able to pull together a far better cast of characters than the meatballs currently running his Campaign.

Despite the hopes of the radical left that Kerry will become their knight in shining armor with the addition of a few Clinton Administration staffers who might actually know what they are going, the Kerry Campaign will continue to distinguish itself not for its effectiveness and discussion of critical issues, but for its inconsistency, miscalculations, and amateurism.

The problem is that Kerry, and leftist Democrats in general, wrap themselves in an aura of arrogance intended to dissuade critics from attacking their knee jerk, failed policies of the past.

Voters should not be concerned that John Kerry has failed to clearly take a stand on any issue because he is a very intelligent man who ?cares about the little guy?. We should just sit back, relax, and let President Kerry take care of us in ways far too complicated for us simple folks to comprehend.

In the world of the Kerry Camp staffer, they know what is best for you, and it is their job to get that idea through that thick, little, poorly educated head of yours. The standard response if you happen to question one of Kerry?s policies, his voting record, or the logic behind how being a war hero makes a political candidate exempt from criticism or scrutiny, is that you become ?insensitive?, ?mean spirited?, ?negative?, and the perennial favorite; ?stupid?.

The liberal mindset has no tolerance for dissenting opinions, preferring to ridicule or slander the person asking the question than answer how one could still support the economic policies that created ?stagflation? in the 1970?s, urge the expansion of social programs that have produced a self perpetuating welfare class, and champion the same failed foreign policy of appeasement that caused World War II. This unwillingness to answer tough questions coupled with their distain for anyone with a dissenting opinion and disrespect for the public in general is the root cause of the failures of the John Kerry Campaign. In their conceit, the Kerry Camp is trying to tell us what to think rather than why.

The end result is what we see before us. Kerry flip-flopping issues to suit the whims of every special interest group he encounters because he does not expect the folks he spoke to last week to be paying attention and notice his duplicity. A political platform full of unrealistic programs that sound good but have fatally flawed plans of execution. And most of all; the massive distortion of facts, the creation of red herring issues, and outright lies in the hope of dredging up votes from the ranks of the uninformed.

Liberals delight in propagating the myth that they are somehow more intelligent, educated, and sophisticated than the common person. Well, with all do respect to our self appointed philosopher kings, I beg to differ. The latest baseless attack brewed up by the Left is about as intelligent and sophisticated as a drunk wearing a leisure suit trying to hit on his boss? wife at the office Christmas party. It is one thing to have some leftist staffer make some forged National Guard documents on his home computer and them distribute them to the press as genuine. But could they not at least have done a better job of it?

Ah! Ah! Ah! Hold it right there before you start getting all hysterical and ?outraged? on me. The documents are fake. Period. Almost every document expert who has viewed them, with the exception of a few hired by CBS News, says that they are crude forgeries at best. Maybe this type of thing works in college campus student government elections, but not in a Presidential race. If you place any validity in those documents then it is because you simply want to believe them, not for any rational reason. Personally, I think it is pathetic that a major political party would be so morally bankrupt and desperate to even attempt such an affront.

Who knows if John Kerry or the DNC is behind the fake documents. They will certainly never admit it. But it would be completely consistent with the character of a campaign staff who has no respect for the voting public to attempt to pass off such a heavy handed, boorish, farce as the National Guard forgeries are proving to be. John Kerry?s Campaign has been run so poorly because Kerry has assembled a cabal of like minded leftists who simply do not see the need to offer the American people anything more than the lies, distortions, and senseless sound bites that they have been churning out for over a year.

If they had any respect for us, they might just run a far stronger campaign. If they had any ethics, they would try. The problem for the Kerry Campaign is that it is too pompous to even know there is a problem.
