Dan Rather - Fire him

By: Jeff Alan | Submitted on: 09/23/04

EDITORIAL - I must admit that I am surprised with the recent admission by CBS news anchor and liberal media figure, Dan Rather, that the Bush National Guard story he passed off as genuine was as fake as a $3 bill. Equally as deceptive, and as phony, was Bill Burkett, who admitted that he deliberately deceived CBS ? and the American people, by parading those fake documents as if they were the real McCoy.

But Dan Rather?s admission that his only mistake was not verifying the authenticity of the documents, is just the tip of the CBS news iceberg as facts are emerging about a collusion between CBS and the Kerry campaign as these false documents came to light. It is scary --- horrifying, actually --- that a major US news organization purposely planned and executed a calculated attack aimed directly at, and with the full intention of harming, the incumbent republican President.

What is our nation coming to????

DNC Chairman, Terry ? I am actually a communist at heart? McAuliffe, brushed aside the fact that his entire organization was ?in? on the CBS deception, and instead did what liberals do best, bury the facts with innuendo and irrelevant vitriol. It?s the same, stale modus operandi that has been the trademark of democratic ideals.

And what about Dan Rather. Real simple. Fire Him. Fire Dan Rather now. Journalists who cash the big paychecks must be held accountable, and be responsible for conducting exhaustive research BEFORE a story such as this, airs. But he didn?t. He was just as fired up ? just as eager to get the story ?out there? as fast as he could so that he could save the world from the evil George W. Bush. He let his ego and his lack of morality get him into hot water at the expense of a decent man who honorably served his country.

Dan Rather is finished as a credible journalist. CBS news should terminate his contract immediately. It is the right thing to do. We don?t need people like Dan Rather polluting the news media with unsubstantiated documents or testimony. We already have people like Peter Jennings, Aaron Brown and other socialists who slant the news so far to the left that it runs right into the gutter. We don?t need Dan Rather. The media will be a better place without him.

The country will be a better place without him.

Oh, one last thing. Mr. Rather, In your weak ?apology,? you failed to address one to President Bush and his family, the people you deliberately hurt the most. I could only wonder if you had the integrity and courage to do so.

Keep Walkin' to the Right.
