Dead soldiers cower American senators and civilians
By: Lee Ellis | Submitted on: 01/24/07EDITORIAL - President Bush said about terrorists in his 2007 State of the Union speech, “Their aim is to seize power in Iraq, and use it as a safe haven to launch attacks against America and the world. Lacking the military strength to challenge us directly, the terrorists have chosen the weapon of fear.”
Well friends, fear is what our media and many in Congress seem to promote! NBC just headlined a great number of American troops killed in Baghdad. Surprised? We shouldn’t be. The terrorist regime has repeated over and over again that America is cowardly. Their leaders say that the more American troops they kill in Iraq, the faster Americans will waver, waffle and wilt. And they seem to be correct.
The American people are being told by the Democrats and some Republicans, (AKA RINOs) that this is the fault of President Bush. Nonsense! It is the opposition that is emboldening and encouraging the terrorists to flow from Iran and Syria into Iraq to murder both Iraqis and Americans. The more Biden, Levin and other presidential candidates, or RINOs up for re-election in 08, put their own greed and lust for power over winning the war against terrorism and over the safety of our troops, the more danger they create with their speeches on the Sunday TV news shows.
Kennedy’s news bytes state that Bush is escalating the war by sending in more troops, that this is very wrong and that all the American people are against Bush. Ahh, just what the terrorists want to hear. Just before the elections, Chappaquiddick Ted and other Democrats were yelling for a new strategy and lamenting that Bush was “staying the course.” Well, Bush and his generals changed strategy and now the non-loyal opposition disagrees!
Biden loves to call Iraq a Civil War. Sorry, Joe, if it were a Civil War, there would be two governments. Have you forgotten The Confederate States of America that was formed with Jefferson Davis, a West Point graduate and former U.S. Army officer, as president and that Abraham Lincoln was sworn in as 16th President of the United States of America. Now, THAT was a Civil War! Iraq has only one government and is being attacked not by other Iraqis, but by mercenaries and terrorists swarming in across the border!
This is neither a Civil War nor is Bush escalating it; as Obama and Hillary think; he is merely trying to close the border where the terrorists are gathering, rooting them out of Al Anbar province and having enough soldiers to be able to keep the thugs from returning after the main troops clean them out of each neighborhood. This is called winding down, not escalating.; winning, not losing.
The polls also show that only 24% agree with our President that being in Iraq is necessary. But why are so many people agreeing with these pro-terrorist calculations for winning a war against America. Why? Yes, it is difficult to understand why Americans do not support the Commander-in-Chief in any war, especially in a dire battle against fanatic terrorism from the Middle East. Don’t American people understand that the rag-tag mercenaries who are killing so many Iraqi citizens along with our American troops will be here to kill us when we are forced to no longer have a presence in the Middle East?
The answer to this inscrutable quandary is that Americans only know what they see on television and read in the in NYTimes syndicated columns which are carried by most local newspapers across the USA.
The other night, I listened to ABC news and was shocked to hear how anchor Charles Gibson described the great number of recent deaths of our servicemen in Iraq. He wondered if “this was timed to taunt President Bush?”
No, Mr. Gibson! It was timed to take advantage of the anti-war diatribes foisted upon us by both the many Democrat Presidential candidates and the RINOs in Congress who are seeking future votes from the Far-Left in this country.
I just received an e-mail from a good friend in Australia. I had jokingly told her that many of us might have to move to her patriotic country because of the lack of patriotism here and the fact that this country might be taken over in 08 by the politically correct Hate-Bush Socialists.
Her reply: “Australians and Americans may have to meet half-way! January 26th is and always has been Australia Day when patriotism is most obvious and people generally enjoy themselves. Last evening's TV news advised us (Australians) that the wearing or waving of the Australian flag is not recommended on this day as it seems to inflame/incite other races...and we do not want a re-run of last year's race riots, do we?”
Yes, they say always appease, and the enemy will be nice. It looks as if the politically correct propagandists are also moving on to Australia, having achieved their goal here in America.
There was also the news today on the networks that Al Qaeda had planned another major attack on the USA. It was discovered according to a captured document still classified, that al Qaeda in Iraq had planned to slip twenty young insurgent terrorists into the United States using student visas. These are not Iraqis, but terrorists who had crossed the border into Iraq to kill both Iraqis and Americans so as to prevent Iraq from becoming a democracy. If they were willing to do this, Pierre Thomas, the ABC reporter suggested, then they would be very willing to cross our borders to create terrorist acts in America. Police are still looking for these twenty suspects throughout Europe, but they have not been found yet. In case you have forgotten, use of student visas was the same tactic which accomplished 9/11!
Al-Qaeda's deputy leader mocked President Bush's plan to send 21,000 more troops to Iraq, challenging him to send "the entire army," according to a new al-Qaeda videotape released just a few days ago. Al-Zawahri said the U.S. strategy for Iraq, outlined by Bush in a Jan. 9 speech, was doomed to fail. "I ask him, why send 20,000 (troops) only — why not send 50 or 100 thousand? Aren't you aware that the dogs of Iraq are pining for your troops' dead bodies?" said al-Zawahri in the footage released by SITE, an independent group that researches and analyzes terror-related intelligence.
Does anyone need any further proof that we are in Iraq to fight terrorism and not there to fight Iraqis? To those who keep reading that this is an unnecessary war, don’t swallow this baloney. History will show that this fight to keep a presence in the Middle East will be the most important and courageous step any president has ever taken. Had he wavered, you would soon be seeing many more attacks on the USA, the potential loss of your freedom, and perhaps a future White House and Congress controlled by an Islamic group as it installed Sharia law for all. To quote President Bush again, “…our nation is committed to an historic, long-term goal -- we seek the end of tyranny in our world. Some dismiss that goal as misguided idealism. In reality, the future security of America depends on it!”
