Hillary Clinton's "progressive" outlook
By: Neal Boortz | Submitted on: 07/25/07EDITORIAL - Hillary has decided that she does not want people to label her as a "liberal." Instead, she prefers to be called by my favorite term ... progressive. And not just progressive but a "modern day progressive."
She says the word liberal is now too closely tied with the concept of big government. I suppose her universal healthcare plan is the definition of "small government."
She says that she is "someone who believes strongly in individual rights and freedoms, who believes that we are better as a society when we're working together." That doesn't even make sense. In her "we are in this together" society, where is there room for individual liberties?
You need to remember that when Hillary was pushing her socialized medicine plan 14 years ago she told a group of Republican congressmen that we have to stop worrying about individual rights and start worrying about what is best for society. Trust me ... this woman has no appreciation at all for the concept of individualism, let alone individual rights.
As a true believer that government is what makes this country great, Hillary says that we have got to get our young people back into government service. I'm sorry ... did I say "government." She meant "public" service.
Her solution to global warming? Take away tax breaks for big oil companies. That's her solution. She wants to fund her government green energy projects, as she calls them, with taxes. Typical liberal. Not progressive .... LIBERAL.
