Get SmallGovTimes.com RSS feeds
The SmallGov Times is proud to introduce a system designed to publish small government articles and Internet news sources straight to your computer.
How is it done?
We use RSS technology to publish an XML-based document that holds the last 10 site articles and news sources that are published on The Times web site. Our RSS document feed is continuously updated whenever we add, delete or modify articles or news listings, and the changes are sent straight to you, automatically.
What you need to do is simple: download an RSS reader. For windows users, try Sharp Reader at sharpreader.net (for easiest installation, click 'the installer' at the top of the page). After installing the program, you should have a screen that looks like this (click image for larger version):
See the 'Address' bar up at the top? All you need to do is plug in the address of our RSS feed and you're done! You can do this by copying (highlight the url below and right click, select Copy) and pasting (right click in Address bar, select Paste).
The address to our RSS feed
Here's the address to our site articles and news feed. After you copy and paste once, you should never have to do it again.

After pasting the URLs into the 'Address' bar in Sharp Reader, you're finished with the setup and are now able to read our articles and news sources without having to visit our web site. After executing our RSS feed for the first time, click the 'Subscribe' button just to the left of the 'Address' bar and our feed will be placed in your shortcuts on the left.
Quick tips
Sharp Reader works just like an email application. Feel free to delete news stories that you've already read. As soon as another news story becomes available, it will appear in the reader, bold, ready to be viewed, locked or sent through email to a friend.
You may adjust feed properties by highlighting a feed from your 'Subscribed Feeds' list on the left, clicking 'Tools' and selecting 'Feed Properties'. One property you may wish to change is 'RefreshRate'. When a refresh occurs, Sharp Reader will check the RSS feed for updates - for quicker updates, select a shorter time.
The 'Auto Purge' feature within the 'Feed Properties' window will automatically delete news stories that are older than a given date. The default is 2 weeks. Because our news stories are updated often, this feature will rarely come into play when set to 2 weeks.
Problems?
If you are experiencing problems with the feed, and you believe the problem is on our end, please email support@smallgovtimes.com and let us know. We will make every opportunity to rectify any issue you may be experiencing.
